Inexpensive Handsoap

Hand soap can be expensive. Especially if you have kids and they use way too much.  I've found that the foaming hand-soap dispensers are nice because my daughter can catch the soap easier and doesn't let it slide down the drain unused.  The best part about foaming soap dispensers is that you can refill them for 1/3 the cost of regular soap.

The reason is because the soap is already diluted in the dispenser.

1.  When My foaming soap is gone, I purchase regular hand soap in the large refill container.

2. Refill the dispenser 1/4 to 1/3 full.  This depends on the strength of your refill soap and how rich you like your suds.  Experiment a little til you find your preference.

3. Fill the rest of the way with water, put the lid back on, then shake it up.

This watered down soap works just as well as the other stuff and lasts just as long. I buy much less soap in the long run.

I love these DIAL soap dispensers because they don't have a sticker label on them. I hate when labels get all nasty and don't peel off easily.  The cranberry scent is my favorite.

PS- Lately, I have been experimenting with making my own laundry detergent. I'll be sharing my method and opinions on it soon.

  2. I make my own laundry soap and dilute the hand soap as well. Isn't it grand? Nice step-by-step pictures!
