FEEDS------------------------------------------------

Online links to recipe's I've found, tried, and love.

Cheesy Cauliflower Soup: Simple tasty and crowd pleasing my review here.

Curried Turkey Salad: My favorite after T-day recipe

Dark Chocolate Sauce  excellent on ice-cream. Less sugar and no high-fructose corn syrup.  Can be used with Peanut Butter Graham Crunch topping (see variations on Nutella graham crunch recipe).

Mango & Black Bean Salsa:Yum! I could eat this all day... wait, I did.

Brown Rice Pilaf: Want to add brown rice to your meals for a healthy side. Buy medium or short-grain brown rice and use this recipe.  We LOVE IT! I'm sure long-grain brown rice has it's uses, but generally we find it too coarse especially to substitute for white rice.

Pasta and Broccoli in Creamy Mozzarella sauce: just click on the link to read my post on it.  So easy, fast, and tasty.

Simple Lentil Soup: This is a very tasty, easy, and easy on the budget soup. Mince the onions small for picky kids and top with cheese for a real winner. Read "Becca"'s comments for how to make with dry lentils.

Ways to use whey: If you make your own greek yogurt you may have some whey that can be used rather than tossed.

Whole Wheat Pancakes: Find my new favorite w.w. pancake recipe along with my variations on a breakfast staple.

Whole Wheat Snickerdoodles : These are super tasty.  I had a few changes I made but they are so tasty.  Read my review and try them yourself.

Exellent Pumpkin Cake with light and Creamy Frosting : two excellent recipes I combined for an awesome dessert.

Crockpot:

Slow-cooker Lasagna: I make this w/ ground turkey and I usually mince 2 handfuls of spinach and add it to the red-sauce and one time I added a zucchini (grated).  I only add 3/4 cup water since I like a thicker sauce and I only cook it  2.5 to 3 hrs max!

Orange Apricot Pork Chops: One of my favorites: yams, chicken, and rice.  So easy yet so good.

Vegetarian Lentil Soup : I made this soup but I made it w/ chicken broth and I added a ham hock. Super Tasty! I didn't soak my lentils (but I rinsed them). Cooked 3 hrs on high 3 more on low.

BBQ Ribs : Oh, so tasty if you have ribs you need to cook... We used regular bone in spare ribs.  Anthony rated them the second best he's ever had next to Texas Roadhouse.

Crockpot Sticky Chicken: I make this all the time. For kids I leave out the chili powder. You can change up the seasoning all you like. I just use the same amount of salt and the paprika (makes it look browned). Sometimes I do basil and garlic, or any dry rub recipe. I do thighs a lot too because they're a good portion size for 1 per person and the price is usually better. Save the drippings in the freezer to use for broth in other recipes.  Adds a lot of flavor.

Melt-in-your-Mouth Meatloaf:  mmmm this is so tasty. I just tripled the recipe and I'm freezing two loaves (pressed in my foil lined crockpot---pulled out with the foil and freezing pre-formed) for use at a later date.  I also make double the sauce.

VIDEOS-----------------------------------------------

Hungry for ChangeThis documentary (available on Netflix) is eye-opening and inspiring.  It helps us to understand problems with the American diet and the importance of eating whole foods. See my post/review: Are you Hungry For Change?

Sugar: the Bitter Truth: an eye opening presentation by Dr. Robert Lustig of the University of California.  This video series The Skinny on Obesity: also produced by UC is illustrated and better presented.

Forks Over Knives: this movie really changed my thinking about food. No, I am not a vegan but I'm eating more whole foods, more plant-based foods, not adding excess fats, and eating less meat and dairy.  I eat more bulk and less calories.  I've also limited our sweets (especially unnaturally sweet things). It's available on NETFLIX.

Fat Sick and Nearly Dead: I watched this documentary a year ago (20 lbs heavier).  It really made me start thinking about our diet and began changing but I felt this is not a good family friendly approach to nutrition.  Although I should go on a juice-fast someday. It is also on NETFLIX.

Starfall.com : this is actually an educational Website. This is where my daughter learned her letters, sounds, and tons of vocabulary.  She had most of it down at age 2.

Free Online Workouts : Get fit for free.

Doctor Cathy on You-tube: Safe workouts to do through-out pregnancy.  Doctor Cathy was a life-saver during both of my pregnancies (the warm up was often the only reason I could walk).  I plan to do a few of her videos 3-4 times per week throughout my next pregnancy.
